Why Do People Still Smoke?
There’s actually a lot of information on smoking. The reason why you don’t see a lot of this information being published by media outlets, is because it’s not the hot topic and more importantly, people don’t like smoking anymore (the adult smoking rate is on a 7 year decline.) People have been smoking tobacco cigarettes for many years, despite the known harm they cause. For this reason, most people don’t take the time to actually research smoking, nor the amount of deaths it causes each year.
For your information: Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. Cigarette smoking causes about 1 of 5 deaths in the United States each year. Cigarette smoking is estimated to cause 443,000 deaths annually.
However, electronic cigarettes are a popular alternative to traditional cigarettes, because surprisingly, this generation is finally starting to get enough of the on-going health issues and the more prominent risk of cancer. Since the e-cig industry is still so fresh and the market has room to develop, many researchers have conducted studies and continue to do so.
The great thing about electronic cigarette users are, that all of them chose to quit smoking and to enjoy nicotine in a less harmful way. That said, they’ve not only looked for support, but they’ve offered it themselves. The online electronic cigarette community has become a giant support system for former smokers who are interested or have already made the switch to electronic cigarettes. This type of support system only adds to the success of the industry.
