What is a Clearomizer? Simply put, a clear Cartomizer.
Though very similar to a cartomizer, the clearomizer does have a difference. When the clearomizer first appeared in the e-cigarette market, it was very similar to a cartomizer. In fact, it had the filler (with the addition of a long wick) and coil assembly as well.
Since then, the clearomizer has evolved and electronic cigarette manufactures have improved the earlier design. The clearomizer has moved on from its standard cartomizer look, to a now more easily refillable tank, as well as replacing the old wick filler method with strands of wicking material. This setup worked alright for those using the standard 3.7v, but it didn’t work well for high voltage users. On top of that, the coil being placed at the top of the clearomizer wasn’t the brightest idea.
Manufactures continued to improved the design of the clearomizer. The coil was placed at the bottom letting gravity do most of the work. The wick is also placed at the bottom, right on top of the coil leading out towards the e-liquid. In addition, clearomizers also have a bottom known as the ‘head’. The head holds the coil and is easily moved and replaced. This turned the world around for clearomizers and now it’s one of the hottest selling products in the industry.
