Electronic Cigarettes, Are They Safe?
Electronic Cigarettes, Are They Safe? Though there haven’t been enough electronic cigarette studies to without a doubt say that electronic cigarettes are safe, the ones that have been conducted are certainly moving towards it.
There have definitely been studies that have proven the 4 main ingredients in e-liquid (the solution used for vaporizing) are safe, but not all have been proven to be safe through the form used in electronic cigarettes, which is ingested by means of inhalation. The studies which have been conducted thus far are focused on continuing research of Propylene Glycol (PG), a common base when creating e-liquid. Researchers say that e-cigarettes may keep us healthy due to PG being a potent germicide. Dr. Oswald Hope Robertson said “Propylene Glycol may be a powerful deterrent against pneumonia, influenza, and other respiratory diseases when vaporized and inhaled”.
Other studies consist of less scientific and more known wording like “Research Finds Electronic Cigarettes Help People Stop Smoking“, “Study Finds E-Cigarettes Primarily Used To Quit Tobacco“, while other more needed and elaborate studies are “E-Cigarette Study Shows No Risk of Environmental Vapor Exposure” and “Researchers Find Low Levels of Selected Carcinogens and Toxicants In Vapor From Electronic Cigarettes“.
While these studies are becoming more frequent, it still lacks much needed proof that many e-cig users have hoped for. Most users are judging the matter by how they feel, rather than what doctors have proven. There have been a plethora of people that claim they are more active, feel better, and safer since they’ve made the switch to Blu Cigs.
