How Smokeless Cigarettes Work

Most electronic cigarettes consist of 3 parts: a battery, a nicotine cartridge, and an atomizer.

The batteries used in electronic cigarettes are powerful and compact. The battery is used for lighting the tip of the electronic cigarette and giving it a “cherry like” glow.

The atomizer is activated when the user takes a drag on the device. Then, the atomizer heats the air flowing into the device. Then, the atomizer turns the liquid nicotine solution in the cartridge in to vapor, and is then inhaled into the lungs.

The nicotine cartridge consists of a mouthpiece and a reservoir that holds the nicotine solution. These cartridges are available in various flavors such as: menthol, vanilla, tobacco, cherry, and more! You can also choose from different levels of nicotine that vary from: zero, low, medium, high.

The nicotine solution in the cartridge mainly consists of water and propylene glycol. This substance is also used in medicines, cosmetics, food, toothpaste etc. The only other ingredients used in the electronic cigarette is nicotine and some added flavoring.
