What kind of clearomizers are you using? Do you mean like a CE4 or something or a clear cartomizer? :?

i bought them in the UK and just sold as ce5 replaceable atomizer clearos. There was no brand name. so i dinna ken.

Yeah I've never had a problem laying a CE4 on its side. But it sounds like it may be a bit flooded. Try the blow out. It also helps sometimes to roll a corner of paper towel and dab it into the drip tip.
