It's the seventh bill on the 3rd Reading calendar, so it might be awhile before they get to it. It's hard to say - some bills get done quickly, some take longer.

they passed substitute 3 and now it goes to a Senate Committe--if passed then it goes to the full senate

It basically claims that any device that heats tobacco or nicotine is banned in public places. It very specifically defines e cigs and makes clear that they and any other smoking "simulation" device are included in this bill.
Don't forget, this is Utah. My neighbor to the west. They have extraordinarily strict laws on ANYTHING that the Mormon church does not approve. I am really not being biased or derogatory, it is true. For one their smoking age is 19, not 18. You can't even have a simple bar, it has to be a "club" to which you must belong. There are a lot of their regulations which would be considered overly harsh and a restriction of liberties in most other states. |
