Ok, so next week I am going to buy some wick, wire, and mesh to rebuild my phenix. I am soooo loving it, even if I hate to drip LOL.... I am so in love :)

Anyway, I have found Stormy's Vapor Cellar, they carry EVERYTHING! Even some DIY juice stuff. (might try that too) Problem is... they carry different sizes of everything and I dont know what to get.

So, I have been vaping on the preassembled coil/wicks that came with the atty... the one on it now, I took off a coil and it is now at 2.0 and I am vaping at 4.7 volts. I vape 70pg/30 vg juices. Next pre-assembled, I am gonna take another coil off and see if I cant get it to around 1.7. I have no idea what the sizes are that came with the atty.

So, for wire, do I want the .32 or the .36?
silica wick 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, or 3.0mm?
mesh 270, 325, 400, 500 and 635 holes per inch?

Is there a formula somewhere?? LOL

So... thank you very much for anyone that wants to take the time to explain.... or just a hug for those that can just tell me what to get to make the same vape I got now! :)

i don't know the answer, but I do have a question....
with the phoenix, which is what I am looking at geting, does it need to have a mesh wick?
i know that you have to odomize (can't spell) the mesh and i don't want to mess with it, not unless someone can convince me other wise...

That made sense in my head..

The higher the number (AWG) of the resistance wire, the higher the resistance and the smaller the diameter of the wire. I use 32 on my Phoenix', but that's mainly because that's what I have on hand. But it works fine. As for wick, go for 2.5mm silica...that should do you fine (or try cotton yarn, which wicks amazingly and doesn't diminish the taste).

And no, tiffjamesnjj, you don't have to use SS mesh, but you can if you wish. And yes, make sure you oxidize the hell out the mesh!

Let me know the results of your trial if you decide to give the cotton yarn a go. I use Peaches and Creme Ecru 100% cotton 4 strand yarn (non-bleached, non-dyed). Cut off a foot or so and give it a good boil to get rid of any impurities, Blot it dry and go to town. No dry burning the coil with the cotton wick still there, though! I pull the old out, dry burn the coil if need be and carefully thread through new wick. A bundle of the yarn is just $3 or something and it's enough to last a couple of years.

You know, I never thought of trying yams before. but WTH? It COULD happen!

It's getting to where I have to, on occasion, crank up the font size a bit as well. Kinda sucks, cause all my life I'd had way better than 20/20 vision; I could read a street sign from a couple of blocks away. Not any more... :?

My first cotton wicks were made from cheescloth, It only took a few minutes to pull apart the strands and get about 8 threads to double over in a loop and make a wick.

I've since bought a roll of surgical cotton from the local drug store. I snip off a small piece and use that as a wick.

I haven't begun with RBA's or SS yet, but that's in the near future. I've just used cotton to rewick CE4's, and it's a drastic improvement over silica. I'm going to get a phoenix soon as well, and I imagine I'll most likely try cotton in it before I give SS a go.

No you do not have to use mesh in a Phoenix. I have however taken a small piece of mesh like 1/4 inch because it was left over after i cut it, wrapped it around silica and made silica/mesh wick before and put it in a Phoenix, I also do it with a Genesis. Yes...as Maxwell said oxidize the hell out of it. When you think your done, do it 3 more times. Fazed has a great video and he is making a mesh wick. As far as wire, I use 32. Stormys Vapor Celler is overpriced. The best place to get anything is ebay, but if your like me you want to be able to get it ALL at one site, checkout, and it ship. litecigusa.net is a great site, I have gotten silica and wire there before, however they do not sell mesh that I am aware of, I know you CAN buy a pre-made mesh wick. Discount Vapers sells sheets of mesh, and OKC Vapes sells all 3.
Hope I helped....have fun! lol......and if you get into mesh, and need a torch...I got mine in a little kit at Lowes....it isnt HUGE...it does the job. It came with other tips like a knife, a chisel, some soder,

Resistance wire Kanthal A-1 32 guage: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251137826713?ss ... 1438.l2649

Cotton Wick, I used size #1/0: http://www.ebay.com/itm/280918121158?va ... 1438.l2649

both have free shipping. These two items will keep your rba going for a long time! Also the cotton wick can never ever ever ever ever get dry. It will burn if dry.

There is silica wick on eBay as well if that is what you want.

Good luck!
