Thoughts on wattage/voltage control
Well, its been awhile since I have had time to sit and do a whole lot of anything vape related. I thought maybe I would share my thoughts on the topic of control. Namely the control we have over how we vape.
Some of you know that there are several converts where I work, it’s a production plant and there are a lot of smokers(and now a growing number of vapers). Most are using blu, green smoke, jasper and jasper or some other cig-a-like, but there are a few using v2′s and ego twists if I got to em before they purchased theirs. I get asked a lot of questions at work about how they can improve their vape, and I mean A LOT….
So with the understanding that they may not be able to go out and buy a (new) PV right now, I try and help em make what they have work. With the cig-a-likes its hard but there are several pointers I give that help em, and it works for them. But when its all said and done I tell them they have to make a choice, either
a) get a decent pv(ego type batteries may not be the prettiest thing in the world but they get the job done cheaply)
b) find a different way to quit if that is your goal.
c) keep smoking…. this option is not what they want to hear, but options a and b will save them money and their life, not with out taking time and effort though. So its up to them what they want to do, if the cig a like works then great, but I can’t turn crap to gold
So with the twist and spinner guys it turns into getting good atty’s and showing them how to take care of their devices. It’s pretty easy with these guys, most of em have been trying to quit for years and have the drive to do it just need someone to show them how to get the most of out of the equipment.
And now finally I get to the topic I wanted to start with.
How do you control your vape? Do you like to be able to tweak your voltage/wattage on the fly? Do you like to spend a little more time to setup but in the end have a setup that can not be tweaked easily and really doesn’t need it?
I, personally, carry a couple pv’s to work that are pretty much locked in to what I enjoy through the day. I enjoy 11 – 15 watts with quick heating coils(low resistance), so with a mech mod I’m looking at about 1 ohm on my coil. that works for me.
I’ve sat with people vaping and watched em do a little tweak there, then a little tweak here, here a tweak, there a tweak, everywhere a tweak tweak….oh wait we’re not on a farm right? I don’t remember being like that 9 months or so ago when I started vaping, maybe I was and I just didn’t notice it. Anyway the point is. Do we start out as tweakers and (hopefully) end up where I am, that is a person knowing what works for them and not needing to do on the fly adjustments?
Even with using my Provari or my eVic or a kicked device I don’t adjust em much. I find the voltage I want and they stay there, only bonus I gain from em is a regulated vape(which in it self is awesome).
So are you a tweaker or have you found a nice steady vape?

Thanks for sharing!
I know what I like but I do some tweaking depending on what juice delivery system I’m using at the time.
great article main
awesome post. ive found anything around 8 to 10 watts to be my sweet spot
good post ty
i put a kanger t2 on an ECA ego a few months ago and i haven’t tweaked anything since… i’m not so picky, i liked my minis before i got the ego, it just didn’t deliver enough nicotine to keep me sane so i really did have to make the choice like you say…
Depends; I have a T3 at 1.8 ohms that I use on a Twist or a Spinner to, at and from work. I generally fill it with my all day vape and I’m good. When I’m home dripping, I tweak around if I’m dripping three or four different juices in my Phoenii. Some are good at 7watts, some 8, others maybe a tad higher or lower.
Nice article
cig-A LIKE i luv it
I play but stay in the general area of my comfort zone.
I’ve always been a tweaker, like rebuilding T3′s and EVOD’s with SS mesh, but great tips I think I’ll use them with people that have a desire to stop smoking or want to try something different.
What is best on a regular ego 900mah? I use 1.8 ohm but i hear the 2.4 are the best for my battery so am I hurting my battery?
Nice article. thanks
Still learning about this myself, thanks for the article.
The eGO-C was my first it was good i loed the pass through. Thanks for the post.
I just like playing with mine. lol.
Great question! I have a juice i vape daily that I find myself actually yearning for and yes I’m a tweaker. Why? Well there are a couple reasons really. First it depends on how my lungs feel that day. Some days I’m a little more congested than others and my juice can be a bit harsh so I lower the watts a bit. Then it seems the lungs may clear after a couple toots and I will raise it to a warmer level. Then it depends on the equipment and how long I’ve used it. If it’s new then a lower wattage. If it’s a bit older then maybe a bit more wattage. Great blog!
The consensus amongst my vaping coworkers is: Tweakers by a wide margin!

Great read….I love wattage and voltage and devices and geeking out with it.
Wattage is what use the most…
I play with the hubbys VW stuff, still havent really got into though.
Thanks to my Vamo, which is my 2nd mod, I got 4 months into Vaping, I’ve found my sweet spot. It’s with varied wattage. I adjust between 6 and 12, usually at 8. I spent all sorts of time tweaking around and fiddling with ego twists and mixing juice to discover a good juice supplier and a good medium for my own juices that I don’t always need to fiddle with stuff. But, I still do it here and there, as I do have DIY supplies and loving mixing juices.
This helps in the decision to go variable which i am sure i want to now.
Still learning the ropes, and haven’t bought a VV or any of the nice toys yet. That will come with time though!
It took me a while to find exactly what i like, and i may tweak at home. I rarely tweak while i’m out though. Maybe if i get a hotspot or hotlead or something. I also prefer 1ohm to sub 1ohm on 4.2v mechanicals. I take a cheaper one to work everyday along with my provari, clocked in to give me an average of 10 watts, where as the mechanical is giving me like 15-18ish watts.
In fact, even when i had my provari early on i rarely ever adjusted anything once i got it clocked in where i wanted it.
nice Spoon
Whichever way a person likes to do it, it’s just cool that we have so many options. Seems almost like a reward for quitting. Stop smoking and you get all these new toys to play with….
I don’t hate Maxwell, especially if they call her Max or Maxi. It’s cute. Ace isn’t actually a name. It’s a nickname for the first son, like Trip or Chase. I hope they at least give him a proper name.
great article.
