So many people are trying to study and analyze electronic cigarettes when there is nothing really to analyze that much in detail. People have their  own opinions, but it has said to have  been proven that electronic cigarettes in no way can harm the lungs seeing as it is only vapor being inhaled. The scientists did a test where they used regular smokers, non smokers, and people with asthma and COPD. They made them each use an electronic cigarette for ten minutes while they observed airway resistance. They said that the results from the non smokers were “Significantly Increased” airway resistance. It supposedly increased their airway resistance from 182% to 206%. The regular smokers were said to have “a significant rise in airway resistance to 220%, from 176% after using one e-cigarette for ten minutes.” The people with asthma and/or COPD “experienced no significant increase in airway resistance from using one e-cigarette for ten minutes.” So these scientists came up with this short experiment, and posted the findings on the internet. You can see the article here http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/249784.php

So should we believe that this is true because they did some very short and probably rushed tests, or should we believe what we already do. I know I believe that there is no way electronic cigarettes can harm the lungs, but like I said earlier everyone has got there own opinion. If studies keep coming out like this who’s to say that they won’t decide to ban e-cigs. That would be Terrible with a capital T.

maybe it does i wouldnt think it would be anywhere close to real cigs just have to wait on some extensive tests to know for sure, not that bs test they did lol

I firmly believe anything you put into your lungs other than air will harm them. That said, I include smog, cigarette smoke, and vapor from my ecig into that category. However, I think the amount of harm is negligible, and frankly, not worth worrying about.

Hell even air is bad for your lungs!!! All I know is e-cigs are way better then cigarettes

Same test with real cigarettes would probably produce worse results. It’s about the big picture.

Your rite, way to short of a test to post results online. Test’s should be done with large numbers of people as well as months of testing and research. I would not beleave any of this test.

I do agree with Chad though on this one. Lungs are for air but not much harm from vapor from Ecigs

The big picture is right. Will be tough to get studies the are unbiased and just looking for the facts. Just have to wait and see…

I had to quit smoking in January 2013 due to collapsed lung. In the 17 yrs I spent smoking I noticed a considerable decrease in my lung capacity. Now that’s its been almost 2 months since I quit and began vaping I can breathe better and have no chest pain from smoking. If vaping does have any negative effects on the lungs then I have not noticed. I’d like to think vaping does absolutely no harm but the reality is that vaping hasn’t been around long enough to assure the public that it is completely safe. Who knows if there will be any long term effects. Overall I believe vaping is definitely less harmful than smoking.. I guess with more time we’ll all know for sure one way or another.
