This whole thing about mechanical mods and the different resistance between a high end mod and a cheap mod doesn’t make a lot of sense. I have two mechanical mods that I will be using during this experiment, the first is the Poldiac made from stainless steel and the contacts are made from silver plated brass contacts worth about $250. The second mod is the Blade from tobeco made from chrome plated brass with a brass contact, paid $37.

For this experiment I will using a AW IMR 3.7V 2000mAh battery that is freshly charged that reads 4.13volts, as well as a in line volt meter and a multimeter.

So I will first be taking each mod using the same battery and checking the volts that it puts out.

The Poldiac

The Blade

So my conclusion is there is not a difference in resistance between the Blade and the Poldiac, But there is a difference in build quality and build options.

Nice attempt but that test tells us nothing. Get a 0.6 ohm genesis, and test them loaded. Bet you have a DID? In all due respect, the blade has middle of the road contacts as well. But if you had something like the GG Clone, or a ST Natural then you really be on to something. Pit one of them against the Poldiac with a low resistance coil and re due the test.

    Great post!

Interesting, Vaperswin I will have to do some more tests.

Curious as to what you come up with after testing under load. Are they all the same or not???

The major difference obviously is the price!

How much could silver plating possibly help conduction? I am far from being an expert on electricity but it seems to me that putting a micro thin layer of silver over the brass just doesnt seem like it is going to do much to me. It seems like all the silver would really do is prevent corrosion a little better… but I may be completely wrong on this! I would love to see if there is a huge difference when you do the other test that was recommended by VapersWin.

Nice experiment. But non of the devices are under load. Lol. FAIL!!!

This test is almost irrelevant, there has to be a load to determine voltage drop, and yes there would be a noticeable difference between the two.

I get lost on all that but my evic tells me everything I need to know. But what is the best ohms and voltage settings..?

I think that would be a good addition to my collection..
