Awesome News from Europe About E-Cigarettes
Hello my fellow Vapers, I opened up my E-mail today and found some interesting information on studies, Yes I know there out of Europe but still worth the reading. I got this post from Ashtray Blog: http://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/ashtray-blog/ , although in my opinion E-Cig Advanced is the Best Forum/blog in the World I do dabble with others
.
There was a title that caught my eye, and I could not resist, The title was :
Electronic Cigarettes Reverses Rare White Blood Cell Condition in Fascinating Case Study
You have to agree sentence is extremely eye Catching …..
I read the blog and was intrigued …. It is about a 30+ yr old who had been smoking since 18, he has a Rare condition caused by smokeing ( If I understand correctly ) called chronic idiopathic neutrophilia. He was told to quit smoking , he tried and failed as most of us ex-smokers have, and after trying the regular Smoking cessation stuff he shifted to Vaping , After a couple months his Condition chronic idiopathic neutrophilia, was gone !!!!! Now that’s a study with results. Here’s a Paragraph from the interview:
PLB: You are about to publish an intriguing case study in which a patient suffering from chronic idiopathic neutrophilia (elevated white blood cells) has normalized after switching from smoking to vaping. According to your report the patient suffered from this for over 7 years and had unsuccessfully tried to quit smoking (including approved cessation medications) but was finally able to quit with e-cigarettes.
First of all, could you explain in layman’s terms why elevated white blood cells would be a problem for someone?
Answ. This patient, now age 35, suffered from a condition called chronic idiopathic neutrophilia. It is a condition where elevated white blood cells are found on routine laboratory exams that cannot be explained by any underlying disease. This means that we cannot find a specific cause for this (like for example, infection, inflammation etc). Indeed, after an extensive diagnostic work-up, we could not find any specific condition causing the elevation of white blood cells. Additionally, he had persistently mildly elevated C-reactive protein, a marker of low-grade chronic inflammation. He was a smoker since the age of 18, and he also had elevated blood cholesterol levels, treating with medications (statins). Overall, his profile was considered high-risk for future cardiovascular disease.
Okay that was more than a paragraph, But what can I say but AWESOME!! …. The original Blog post can be read here : http://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/ashtray-blog/2013/01/e-cigarettes-reverse-rare-white-blood-cell-condition.html?awt_l=MArJw&awt_m=JKORVeD_cU8Eb4 .
