ABC news claims e-cigs will lead to real cigarettes
So ABC news says that the electronic cigarette have no scientific proof that it can be used in combating the use of real cigarettes. Who needs scientific proof when you have thousands of people switching from analogs to electronic cigarettes. Not only do they make the switch, but most of them stay on them and never smoke another cigarette again. ABC also reports that electronic cigarettes are dangerous for young adults to smoke. They say that they fear that young adults will quote “graduate” from these devices and begin to smoke real cigarettes. The point of an electronic cigarette is to get people to switch from analogs to e-cigs, and maybe eventually taper down and quit completely if they want. If someone starts out smoking electronic cigarettes this defeats the purpose. I can understand that young people want the nicotine buzz too and have heard the dangers of smoking real cigarettes so they smoke e-cigs, that’s understandable. What is nonsense is that ABC says they fear it will lead them to smoke real cigarettes. They started on these for a purpose and believe me, if they try to smoke a real cigarette after smoking e-cigs, they will never touch one again. The flavor is completely different and to non smokers, it is plain nasty. So ABC news, there is no problem with e-cigs, why is everyone trying to make stuff up about them? Are they trying there hardest they can to ban them? E-cigs are the best way to stop smoking. Why aren’t they complaining about nicotine gum, etc.?

Thats like saying the gum and the patches will lead to smoking. Kids love gum, granted it tastes terible.
Also I loved smoking before I started using ecigs. I made my own cigarettes that all my freinds loved to smoke, and after only a few days of using e cigs I was sick of analog even my own.
The mainstream media are lapdogs to the bureaucrats who spoon-feed them the news they want reported. You don’t think they’re going to bite the hand that feds them, do you?
That’s why it’s up to us vapers to show the real truth, so that people will see the BS being spewed as the BS dogma that it is.

Bunch of Bull. The media always trys to make the masses beleave in lies. My life just had some years added on to it because I switched from cigarettes to Ecigs. I never want to go back to real cigarettes.

What a load of bull. Cigarettes tasted so bad to me after just a few weeks of vaping that I am certain if I had started vaping first there is no way I’d have ever started smoking in the first place.

This argument is so laughable. My husband and I have set up 57 people with kits to date. 4 of the converts are very recent so I cannot say whether they will be successful (but it’s very likely) but of the other 54: 1 has quit vaping and smoking and only 1 has returned to smoking. We have heard the story over and over, I went out and forgot my kit or my battery died or my luggage was lost so I picked up a pack of smokes and…… it was disgusting or I put it out and threw the pack away after two drags or I only smoked one and pitched the pack when I got home to my ecig. Once Vapers break away from cigarettes and taste an ecig, regular cigarettes become disgusting to them. I have known several people who are repeat quitters. They quit for 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, etc. but they have always gone back to smoking. Something about an ecig seems to make that far less tempting, makes the idea sickening in fact. It’s probably the great flavors, the same flavors the Antis are trying to have banned saying they are marketed to children. Well, I’m just a bit (ok a little more then a bit) over 18 and I vape Gummy Bear and Blackberry/Cranberry. As far as young adults “graduating to cigarettes” just search CDC – Fact Sheet – Youth and Tobacco Use – Smoking & Tobacco Use (don’t want to put the link here) and you will see that per the CDC – More than 80% of adult smokers begin smoking before 18 years of age. Seems like they don’t need a gateway, they are already smoking in huge numbers. I know that I and all my friends started before 18 and a lot of the people I have met on the forums started before age 18. Although I do believe that e-cigs should not be sold to people under 18 I do believe that it would be far less harmful to their growing bodies and their health then tobacco cigarettes.

thinking back wo when i started smoking… i could picture trying an ecig when i was young and getting hooked on ecigs, but i can’t picture it being the stepping stone to analogs, it just doesn’t make any sense to me…
