Over the weekend, we had a chance to speak with Bill Godshall of SmokeFree Pennsylvania. Bill has spent his career working to end smoking related deaths through restrictions on cigarette sales, indoor smoking bans and countless hours put in with legislators at the state, local and federal level. But more importantly, Bill has worked as hard as anyone in support of e-cigarettes (and all smoke free alternatives) by battling vape bans, regulation and misinformation.

Wow! This man knows what is REALLY going on with all of the people in power; how it all works and seems thoroughly disgusted with how it all works! I’m very glad that we have such an educated, outspoken man on our side! Going to be looking up this ‘chapter 9′!!

I agree that regulation is bad, other parts are so offensive me I can’t even respond. I’ll end up offending someone.

          Bill Godshall for president!

Very interesting, but I think Mr Godshall might be a little biased by his political leaning. Republicans only dislike regulation that gets in the way of making profits – a good example is someone who would ban smoking in public places yet squeal in protest when the EPA sets clean air standards for businesses. And Republicans in my state have been very pro-regulation when it comes to a November ballot issue that would legalise marijuana.

I do find it ironic that a country that might ban e-cigarettes is inching toward legalising pot and has a death grip on alcohol. It just shows how irrational the anti-smoking brigade really is.

Ok, I’d like to preface my comments by syaing I think Bill Godshall is a tremendous resource for our community. I’m really glad he’s on our side, and is so generous with his time to the ecig community.

But I disagree with Mr. Godshall on his statements about the upcoming election. Big Tobacco and Big Pharma would be the primary beneficiaries of an ecig ban, they are also age old natural allies of the Republican Party. Bill also states that if the president is reelected, we can expect more of what we’ve had for the last 4 years. Well, last time I checked, the market is virtually completely unregulated. If Obama had the desire to regulate ecigs out of existence, he could have done it with the stroke of a pen anytime in the last 3 1/2 years, and he has not.

Mr. Godshall is also coming out as an opponent of any sort of regulations at all, but the reality is he was the driving force behind the public smoking bans in my state of PA. He also claims to have been instrumental in regulations regarding product labeling on cigarettes. It all seems kind of strange to me.

I am by no means trying to attack Mr. Godshall, but rather respectfully disagree with some of his points.

meldasue You mean like the Health Care Bill that those darn republicans shoved down our throats even though the majority of Americans were against it? OOPs I forgot Obama is a socialist, not a republican. Sorry. Bill Godshall has done more for the good health of this country than most and yes even our good president so peddle your hate somewhere else.

If they legalize marijuana wouldn’t it be cool to be able to vape it??

                    R Fortenberry on October 11th, 2012 5:57 am

I would give up vaping before I would vote for a Republican. I have enough equipment to last the rest of my life anyways!

Republican or Democrat , all the same when it comes to money. The E-Cig base is large enough now that they can see a new group to tax. Same for the “legalize marijuana” talk , make it OK to sell and tax it. Never discount the effect money has on a politician.

I really thought this fellow was pretty clever, until he started airing-out his politics. Why, you might ask? He totally ignored the FACT that Big Tobacco is a part of politics on both sides, and also ignored the FACT that the Romney/Ryan ticket has done nothing but shown a cozy relationship with big business to the detriment of those with less purchase power. He mentions a few companies with the resources to comply with Chapter 9, but he fails to mention these are the very same companies which are run by the PEOPLE who are funding the Romney/Ryan campaign. Therefore, this podcast barely rises above the level of misinformation, and may God help you if the Romeny/Ryan ticket makes the decisions about your business in the future. Why, you might ask? If you had enough resources to be a constituent for the Romney/Ryan ticket you wouldn’t be here reading my informed opinion.

Awesome podcast. It’s great to hear politicians speaking out about big tobacco’s cancer sticks. It sure helps them speak the truth. Thanks for taking the time to produce this podcast.

I am proud to say I am glad Bill Godshall lives in my state. I have faith that my rights as a vaper will be safer in his hands than any other political voice.

I have seen lots of useful things on your web-site about computer systems. However, I’ve got the view that laptop computers are still not nearly powerful sufficiently to be a good option if you generally do projects that require a great deal of power, including video modifying. But for website surfing, word processing, and majority of other prevalent computer functions they are fine, provided you don’t mind the small screen size. Many thanks sharing your notions.
