LOGIC Technology, a new electronic cigarette brand, has recently announced a new President: Miguel Martin – former Altria executive.

logicpresidentMartin is ready to lead this rapidly growing e-cigarette company and is committed to making LOGIC’s a leader in the electronic cigarette industry.

At the beginning of Martin’s career with one of the world’s largest tobacco companies, Phillip Morris USA – where he devoted eighteen years serving in various sales and marketing roles; ultimately serving as Senior Vice President of Field Sales, running the largest tobacco sales and distribution organization in the U.S.

“This is an exciting time for LOGIC Technology, and we are thrilled to bring a key executive with vast experience of the tobacco industry on board. Miguel’s unique background, relationships and understanding of the business will build upon LOGIC’s vision for its consumers and trade partners.” said Eli Alelov, CEO of Livingston, N.J.-based LOGIC Technology.

“This is a pivotal moment in the electronic cigarette industry, and I’m thrilled to be joining LOGIC’s team at a time of great opportunity for the industry as a whole and particularly for LOGIC and its trade partners,” said Martin. “LOGIC is a leader in the space and I’m looking forward to further enhancing the brand’s presence in the U.S.”

This isn’t the first time a big name has joined the electronic cigarette industry. In late March, NJOY Electronic Cigarettes announced the addition of former U.S Surgeon General Dr. Richard Carmona to their board of directors. While they wait for FDA action, more and more electronic cigarette companies are scrambling to recruit executives that have navigated complicated regulatory waters. This will surely help Logic’s cause.

      Getting very very interesting.

I know he is a former Altria executive, but I wonder if Altria is looking into buying an ecig company out, like Lorillard did with Blu.

I doubt it would be a good product. Rechargeable batteries and bottles of e-liquid don’t satisfy their bottom line. There is more money in disposables.

It would be interesting to see where they go in this industry.

To no surprise, Altria has already joined the electronic cigarette industry. Not long ago, they announced their own version of the e-cig, the MarkTen.
