California City Bans E-Cigs Based On Faulty Info

Richmond, California- The site of the latest misguided city to ban electronic cigarettes by people that hardly understand them. California is a very health conscious state, so I was honestly a little surprised to discover the opposition to a better alternative than tobacco. I figured a state as progressive as California might be able to look behind the increasingly outdated moniker “electronic cigarette” and see the intrinsic value of reduced harm alternatives.

Still, when a scientist from UC Berkley is testifying at your city council meeting. According to council member Jim Rogers: “The scientists from UC Berkley that testified last night said there are detectable amounts of substances that get inside people. That’s enough for me.” I’m not really sure what that means, but I’d love to see what study the scientists was referencing to make these claims.

I feel the Apollo Cigs representative in the video did a great job making a sane and rational explanation of vaping. If only more like him had turned up at the meeting.

The good news is that the ban gets another reading next month before it comes into effect. Spread the word.

Its about time they start talking the facts and not the scare tactics that have been going on.
